Social Management Plan

Building local capacities and promoting community well-being in Cordoba, Colombia.

The La Unión plant in Montería, Córdoba (Colombia) supported global decarbonization through clean energy generation while advancing local development via its Social Management Plan (SMP). The SMP strengthened technical, environmental, and community relations and included strong citizen participation through the Environmental and Social Support Committee (CAAS), which promoted training, monitoring, and ongoing dialogue. Key capacity-building actions included SENA-led bakery courses for 27 women and photovoltaic system training for 65 residents. Community initiatives featured annual school kit deliveries, cultural and recreational events, and participatory planning to validate local priorities. Between June and December 2025, the SMP carried out its closing phase, completing verification visits, community monitoring, and follow-up on commitments, consolidating local capacities. Its implementation strategy was organized around five components: Community Connection, Local Boost, Renewing the Territory, Training for the Future, and Living Culture. Overall, the project benefited 1,000 direct stakeholders and promoted sustainable, inclusive development.
