Energy savings for a local community in Murcia

In 2023, five photovoltaic installations were made in Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia, Spain): four in public schools and one in the Town Hall. These systems now provide clean energy to a broad group of beneficiaries, including 908 students, 68 teachers, 45 municipal employees, and nearly 100 citizens who visit the local library and Town Hall each day. The project has generated notable economic and environmental benefits for the municipality. The Town Hall has achieved around €7,000 in energy-cost savings, while the use of renewable energy has avoided more than 35,000 kg of CO₂ emissions compared with conventional electricity consumption.

The installations were completed across nurseries, schools, and the cultural civic center, where the Town Hall is currently located. Overall, the project has brought direct advantages to over a thousand people, reinforcing Puerto Lumbreras’ commitment to sustainability and demonstrating the positive impact of local renewable-energy initiatives.
