Equipping young talent in Chile with solar energy skills
This project builds on Zelestra’s long-term collaboration with the Electricity Department of Colegio Salesiano Santo Domingo Savio in Alto Hospicio, Chile, a vocational school serving highly vulnerable youth. The 2025 program offers final-year electricity students practical training in installing, verifying, and maintaining residential photovoltaic systems, integrating theoretical learning with hands-on field experience. Students develop skills in system sizing, safety procedures, testing, and troubleshooting, culminating in an applied group project evaluated with professional standards. The initiative also strengthens teaching capacity through specialist training, provides scholarships and equipment, and supports broader access to quality technical education in the renewable energy sector.
