Zelestra's two decades as an EPC expert: Constructing a cleaner world

One of Zelestra's unique business advantages is the expertise that we have internally in the disciplines of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). We have more than 300 experts across our business that are skilled in designing and efficiently building clean energy projects – and we have two decades of experience and success.

With this in-house expertise, we can of course construct our own projects. This includes recently successfully delivering the largest ever solar project in the history of Peru, the 300 MW San Martín project. Over 12 months, we managed a peak team of 900 people installing over 450,000 modules and 3,500 kilometres of cabling to enable over 830 GWh of clean energy to be generated annually. This is equivalent to powering more than 440,000 homes.

This kind of knowledge is in high demand in our sector, so we also offer our services to other developers of renewable energy, acting as their lead EPC contractor.

A unique selling point of working with a company that also manages their own projects for the long-term, is that we design and deliver projects to the same high standards that we expect for our own sites. We deliver thinking about 20 or 30 years of high-performance, considering all aspects of a project’s longevity beyond the two or three-year warranty period that is standard in the sector.

As a forward-thinking company, we also embed digital intelligence into every step of our processes.

Through our advanced project management platform, we capture:

  • Real-time progress updates across all project sites
  • End-to-end visibility on risk items and mitigation tracking
  • Centralized financial tracking for smarter, faster decisions

For us, digitization is more than replacing spreadsheets - it’s about driving transparency, data-backed accountability, and maximum efficiency.

With clearer insights, faster collaboration, and fewer surprises, we’re accelerating project timelines while staying laser-focused on quality and cost.

As a global player, we also have a very strong international supply chain, and we work with leading companies across all renewable energy technologies. This means we can leverage our global scale to secure the most advanced technology competitively, while also benefitting from our extensive network of local trusted partners to deliver projects on-the-ground on time and on budget.

Our focus on safety is also an ever-present priority. We recently achieved 1,000,000 hours worked without occupational accidents, both for our internal teams across the world and for the teams in our contractor partners.

One of our core beliefs is that we work tirelessly to do things right, and our safety culture is a clear example of that in action.  It is based on a consistent and structured strategy that includes continuous and specialized training, adapted to each environment and the nature of our work as well as our use of technology and innovation for the early identification and correction of risks.

Constructing a large-scale clean energy project is a hugely complex task, which can involve many suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, and partners. At Zelestra. we take ownership of every relationship to overcome complexities, to work smarter, manage the risks and realize the benefits.
