Zelestra Germany: Two-years of growth and ambition

This week, the team is very proud to be celebrating the two-year anniversary of Zelestra Germany. We have much to be proud of. Starting as a very small team with ambitious plans, the growth we have recorded in 24 months has been impressive.

We are now a team of over 70 people with 3 offices in Hamburg, Berlin and Rostock – and a senior leadership team that has many decades of experience in successfully delivering clean energy projects in Germany.

Our pipeline of multi-technology projects now exceeds 2 GW, and a total of 5 projects totalling 120 MW have been awarded in EEG tenders.

Our growth started to really accelerate after the acquisition of East Energy in October 2024. The incorporation of East Energy’s highly-skilled team and development expertise boosted our market strength from day one.

We anticipate that we will start construction of our first site in Q1 2026 - with four more sites entering construction in Q3 2026.

Every day we are listening to customers and growing our pipeline of projects to ensure we can co-build the complex solutions they need to achieve their decarbonization goals.

Germany is a core market for Zelestra. It has strong policy support for renewables and customers are driving new capacity coming online. Bundesnetzagentur figures for renewable electricity generation capacity in 2024 showed an increase of nearly 20 gigawatts (GW) to a total of just under 190 GW. Renewables now accounts for approximately 60% of the country’s total generation and approvals for solar and wind projects are at all time highs.

So, for Zelestra, our focus on growth in Germany continues, and our original ambitious plans are expanding every day.
