Zelestra has two decades of experience in Spain, as a leading multi-technology renewables player, with offices in Bilbao, Madrid, and Sevilla. The company has a portfolio of 6.4 GW of carbon-free projects, including 2.2GW under management in O&M from both our own fleet and 3rd parties. 1.1 GW are contracted with customers and in operations, construction, or pre-construction stage. This includes the first solar plus battery energy storage PPA signed in the Spanish market, which will allow Zelestra to build a 170 MWdc solar and 400 MWh battery storage hybrid project in Trujillo. As a vertically integrated company, Zelestra in Spain specializes in the development, commercialization, construction, and operation of large-scale renewable energy projects. Our digital control centre in Bilbao utilizes intelligent systems to allow us to operate all our assets with maximum efficiency.

Luis Alvargonzález is the CEO for the Spain BU, a position he has held since February 2025. He brings over 14 years of international experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors, with a strong background in M&A and asset management across Europe, Latin America, North America, and Asia-Pacific. He previously held leadership roles at Ferrovial and Inveravante, and began his career in private equity in London. Luis holds a degree from ICADE and an MBA from UC Berkeley.

Renewable Energy executive with extensive international experience across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. As Head of Business Development Iberia at Zelestra and member of the Spain Steering Committee (SLT), she leads the origination and growth of Wind, Solar, and BESS projects, overseeing the full value chain from strategy and M&A to construction and operation. She previously co-founded PMOP Consulting in the U.S., advising renewable companies on market entry and project execution. Puy is recognized for her strategic vision and ability to deliver large-scale projects across diverse geographies.
María del Puy Ayerra GarcíaHead of Business Development Iberia
Legal executive with more than 15 years of experience in corporate, M&A, and energy law. Since joining Zelestra in 2012, he has led the Legal Department in Spain and played a pivotal role in the company’s transformation and international growth. He began his career in top-tier law firms and holds a Law degree from the University of Deusto, an LLM from IE Business School, and a Master in Tax Advisory from CEF. Joseba is recognized for providing solid legal frameworks that support Zelestra’s expansion and safeguard its operations across multiple markets.
Joseba Olamendi LópezHead of Legal Iberia
Energy professional with broad expertise across the value chain, from electricity distribution and wholesale markets to renewable PPAs and storage. As Product Structurer Senior Manager at Zelestra Spain and member of the Spain Steering Committee (SLT), he designs multi-technology energy solutions, integrating photovoltaic, wind, and battery storage, tailored to customer needs. An Industrial Engineer by training, Miguel combines strong technical knowledge with innovative commercial design, supporting client decarbonization strategies and Zelestra’s growth in Iberia.

Currently People Business Partner Director for the Spain BU and Corporate Finance Team at Zelestra, and member of the Spain Steering Committee (SLT), she leads organizational design, leadership development, and cultural transformation to support business growth and decentralization. She previously held leadership roles at ENGIE and VINCI Energies. Julia specializes in aligning people strategy with business objectives and is recognized for driving change, developing leaders, and building resilient organizations.
Julia De La TorrePeople Business Partner Director Iberia
Commercial executive with 20 years of international experience in the energy sector. As VP Customer Origination Iberia at Zelestra and member of the Spain Steering Committee (SLT), she leads the origination, negotiation, and execution of PPAs, enabling corporate clients to achieve their decarbonization goals. In 2024, under her leadership, the team successfully closed five PPAs in Spain totaling nearly 500 MW. Eloisa holds an MBA from IESE Business School and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas. She is recognized for her ability to design and deliver customer-centric commercial solutions.

Finance executive with over 20 years of international experience in project and structured finance across Europe and Latin America. As Spain Project Finance Director at Zelestra and Coordinator of the Spain Steering Committee (SLT), she leads the financial strategy of the Business Unit, securing capital structures and driving long-term value creation. Before joining Zelestra, she held leadership positions at Opdenergy, Sacyr Concesiones, and in investment and wholesale banking. Specialized in renewable energy, M&A, and capital markets, María is recognized for structuring complex transactions and leading high-performing teams.
